Texas Instruments launches new low-power GaN family

Texas Instruments (TI) today released a new series of low-power gallium nitride (GaN) products designed to help reduce the size of automotive power adapters by half and increase system efficiency to more than 95%. The new GaN field-effect transistor (FET) full range of products integrates gate drivers, solves thermal design issues, and enables adapters to provide higher power in a smaller size. This series of products is suitable for a variety of automotive-related industries, such as mobile phone and laptop adapters, TV power units, and USB wall sockets.
