Micron, one of the world's three largest memory chip manufacturers, recently launched a layoff plan in China. The plan mainly affects the R&D, testing, and FAE/AE support departments of the domestic embedded team, and employees in Shanghai, Shenzhen and other locations are affected. Micron announced that it will stop the development of future mobile NAND products worldwide, including the termination of UFS5 development. However, Micron stated that this decision only affects the development of global mobile NAND products. The company will continue to develop and support other NAND solutions, such as SSDs and NAND solutions for automotive and other end markets.
