BYD management reportedly said it would raise its sales target to 4 million vehicles this year, up from 3.6 million previously. The decision reflects optimistic expectations for increased purchases of electric and hybrid vehicles by Chinese consumers. However, Li Yunfei, general manager of BYD Group-Brand and Public Relations Department, denied the news. The latest industry data shows that BYD's sales in August reached 373,083 units, setting a new monthly sales record. So far this year, BYD's cumulative passenger car sales have reached 2,318,798 units, completing 64% of the sales target of 3.6 million units. In the next four months, if BYD's average monthly sales exceed 320,000 units, it can achieve the sales target of 3.6 million units. With the launch of new models, BYD's monthly sales are expected to continue to grow, and it is very likely that the annual sales will exceed 3.6 million units.
