SAIC Volkswagen and CARIAD jointly build a Pro-level platform architecture to promote intelligent development

As early as 2020, Volkswagen established a subsidiary, CARIAD, which is responsible for the electronic and electrical architecture and software platform of the car. The first step of SAIC Volkswagen's intelligentization is to work with CARIAD to create a Pro-level platform architecture. The Pro-level platform architecture can be understood as updating the electronic and electrical architecture and the underlying operating system on the basis of Volkswagen's system E3 1.1, so that stronger smart cockpits and smart driving functions can be installed on the car.
