LG Energy Solution announces completion of its advanced dry electrode process pilot production line

South Korean battery supplier LG Energy Solution announced on August 20, 2024 that its advanced dry electrode process pilot production line at the Aochang Energy Plant is about to be completed. The production line is expected to achieve full production in 2028. The unique dry electrode process developed by LG Energy Solution is expected to reduce battery manufacturing costs by 17% to 30%. This process does not require drying the foil coated with a mixed active material and organic solvent slurry, saving a lot of space and energy.
