According to Bloomberg, Uber has hired former Tesla executive Rebecca Tinucci to oversee its transition to electric vehicles. Uber aims to fully electrify its fleet by 2040 and has pledged to invest $800 million by 2025 to achieve this goal. Tinucci will start as Uber's global head of sustainability on September 16 and report directly to Andrew Macdonald, Uber's head of mobility. She has held several leadership positions at Tesla over the past six years, including serving as head of Supercharger stations for the past two years, making important contributions to Tesla's charging infrastructure. In April of this year, she was fired by Elon Musk because of Tesla's massive cost cuts.
