CATL and Weilan and other companies use different technical routes to develop solid-state batteries

12
In the research and development and production of solid-state batteries, different companies have adopted different technical routes. For example, CATL adopts a gel-state solution, which uses initiators to reduce polymerization problems and improve battery performance, and combines polymer monomers, cross-linkers, liquid lithium salts, etc. to form a gel electrolyte through heating polymerization. Companies represented by Weilan use an in-situ curing solution, which forms a gel network by thermally polymerizing polymer monomers, cross-linkers, initiators, and liquid lithium salts, and then coats the positive and negative electrodes and separators with solid electrolytes to improve the interface and battery performance.
