BYD and FORVIA partner to open new seat assembly plant in Thailand

On July 18, FORVIA Group, a leading global automotive technology supplier, and Chinese automaker BYD unveiled a new seat assembly plant in Rayong, Thailand. Since 2017, FORVIA and BYD have established a deep friendship. The two parties have facilitated the opening of seven factories in China with an annual production capacity of 2.6 million seats and set up a research and development center in Shenzhen. FORVIA already has more than 40,000 employees across Asia. In 2023, the group achieved sales of 7.4 billion euros in the region. The new plant will officially enter mass production one month after opening, producing complete seats for BYD for electric and hybrid vehicles, including BYD's ATTO 3 and Song Plus. The new plant is invested by Shenzhen Faurecia Automotive Parts Co., Ltd. and is expected to produce 180,000 sets of automotive seats per year at full capacity.
