SAIC Motor launches the third-generation digital key based on UWB technology

SAIC Group's Innovation Research and Development Institute is developing the third-generation digital key based on the CCC protocol and UWB technology to solve the problem of precise positioning. UWB's precise positioning function will open up more personalized scenarios, such as smart welcoming and seeing off guests, as well as automated door opening and closing and parking. It is expected that UWB-based models will be put into production in 2025. In exploring the future development of digital keys, SAIC Group proposed UWB+BLE+NFC as an ideal solution. UWB can realize the expansion of multiple applications with one hardware, and BLE, as an auxiliary, has the advantages of low power consumption. NFC realizes scene supplementation, and NFC can still be used to unlock the smart terminal when the battery is low. In addition, the support of AI technology helps to achieve personalization.
