In 2020, Lantu Motors upgraded and renovated the production line of the original Dongfeng Renault factory, built a 5G+ fully connected smart factory, and switched the production capacity of 150,000 traditional fuel vehicles to new energy smart vehicles. In 2021, Lotus Technology, a subsidiary of Geely, landed in Wuhan, filling the gap in Wuhan's research and development and manufacturing of ultra-high-end smart cars. In 2021, Xiaopeng Motors' Wuhan project was launched with a planned production capacity of 100,000 vehicles. Currently, there are 9 passenger car companies in Wuhan, including Dongfeng Honda, Dongfeng Nissan, Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile, Lotus, Mengshi Technology, SAIC General Motors, Lantu Motors, and Xiaopeng Motors. Representative suppliers include Aptiv, ZF, Valeo, Huayu, Dongfeng Hongtai, etc.
