Samsung Electronics reorganizes and establishes an independent HBM chip R&D team

Samsung Electronics' chip design department is undergoing business and organizational restructuring and will give priority to the development of AI chips. The staff previously responsible for the development of the automotive processor "Exynos Auto" have been reassigned to the AI ​​system-level chip team. Currently, the department has 100-150 dedicated designers dedicated to AI chip design. A new HBM (high bandwidth memory) R&D team will be established to maintain its leading position in the semiconductor field. This team will be led by Sun Yongzhu, an expert in high-performance DRAM design.
