Rivian plans to launch new model R2 to cope with production disruptions

Rivian is experiencing production disruptions due to a shortage of shared parts on the R1 and RCV platforms, and has had to lower its full-year production guidance for 2024 to 47,000-49,000 vehicles. To combat this, Rivian is preparing to launch a smaller, cheaper SUV called the R2.
