Japanese telecom operator NTT is cooperating with US chipmaker Intel and other semiconductor companies to jointly develop a new generation of low-power semiconductor technology. The technology will use optical technology and is expected to significantly reduce energy consumption. South Korea's SK Hynix may also join this cooperation.
