According to Nikkei, Honda Motor and Nissan Motor are about to enter the merger negotiation stage. They are considering creating a holding company and have signed a memorandum of understanding. In addition, the two companies also plan to incorporate Mitsubishi Motors, in which Nissan holds a 24% stake, into the holding company. If the integration of the three companies is successful, their annual sales will exceed 8 million vehicles, making them the world's third largest automobile group, second only to Toyota and Volkswagen.
