Meta spends huge sums to buy Nvidia H100 chips for AI research and development

US technology company Meta is spending billions of dollars to buy Nvidia's high-end H100 chip, which is key to AI research and development. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the company plans to build a large-scale computing infrastructure that is expected to include 350,000 H100 chips by the end of 2024. However, due to the limited supply of H100 chips, Meta may have to pay up to $9 billion.
