BYD accelerates the development and production of SiC power devices and invests in the expansion of SiC epitaxial pilot line mass production project

As one of the earliest domestic new energy vehicle manufacturers to introduce SiC power devices, BYD has made great investments in the SiC field to expand production. In June 2023, the Shenzhen Ecology and Environment Bureau announced the environmental impact report for BYD's silicon carbide epitaxial pilot line mass production project, with a planned total investment of 214 million yuan. It is expected to add 6,000 pieces/year of SiC epitaxial wafer production capacity, and the total capacity will reach 18,000 pieces/year.
