Japan's Toyota promises solid-state batteries by 2027

Toyota Motors of Japan has announced that it will put solid-state batteries into use as early as 2027. The technology is believed to avoid the use of liquid electrolytes, thereby increasing the mileage of electric vehicles. However, Zeng Yuqun, chairman of CATL, expressed doubts about this, believing that Japanese manufacturers have not yet found a path to commercialization in the near future.
