CATL accelerates its layout in the electric ship market

CATL's layout in the electric ship market is deepening. In 2018, the company signed a strategic cooperation agreement with CCS Wuhan Standards Institute and officially entered the electric ship market. In November 2022, CATL established a wholly-owned subsidiary, CATL Electric Ship Technology Co., Ltd., focusing on the research and development of marine engineering equipment and other fields. In June 2023, CATL applied to register multiple "CAEV" trademarks. In December of the same year, the company brought a variety of marine battery systems and ship power system solutions to the China International Maritime Exhibition, and released related technologies and solutions. At present, more than 500 new energy ships equipped with CATL batteries have been put into use around the world.
