Nissan and Honda confirm merger talks

Nissan and Honda, two Japanese automakers, have signed a memorandum of understanding to start merger negotiations. They plan to jointly invest in a holding company and merge as subsidiaries. The merged company will seek to achieve annual sales of more than 30 trillion yen and annual operating profit of more than 3 trillion yen.
