Intel invests in ASML to boost U.S. chip manufacturing

Intel invested $4.1 billion to become the largest shareholder of ASML, a Dutch company, hoping to promote the revival of the U.S. chip manufacturing industry by supporting the development of ASML. However, because Intel failed to adopt ASML's mass-produced EUV lithography machines in a timely manner, the United States missed the opportunity to return to the top of the chip manufacturing industry.
