NIO and Zeekr are moving towards self-developed batteries to reduce their reliance on CATL

NIO and Zeekr, two automakers that have in-depth cooperation with CATL, publicly tested their own battery technologies in December last year. NIO launched a 150kWh semi-solid battery pack jointly developed with Weilan New Energy, while Zeekr announced the mass production of the world's first 800V lithium iron phosphate ultra-fast charging "BRIC battery".
