BASF, together with the Yangtze River Delta Physics Research Center and Weilan New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., has launched a solid-state battery pack designed specifically for the electric vehicle industry. The battery pack combines multiple solutions to improve lightweight, thermal management, safety performance and sustainability. The 3D printed battery pack concept model developed by the BASF team takes into account the characteristics of solid-state and semi-solid-state batteries. A major breakthrough is the use of foamed polyamide material, which has lightweight, low thermal conductivity, high mechanical strength and good processability, and can be recycled, which is very suitable for the needs of all-solid-state batteries. In addition, the battery pack supports complex irregular shape designs, reduces the need for small connectors, and provides greater design flexibility.
