Panasonic's battery business misses fiscal year profit forecast

Panasonic Energy's sales for the fiscal year ended March fell 6% year-on-year to 915.9 billion yen due to a drop in electric vehicle battery production in Japan and a decline in sales of consumer products and power equipment. Operating profit surged 167% to 88.8 billion yen, but was still below expectations.
