SAIC Transmission wins 2023 Metallurgical Science and Technology Award

SAIC Transmission won the second prize of the 2023 Metallurgical Science and Technology Award. The project was led by SAIC Transmission and completed in cooperation with Beijing Iron and Steel Research Institute and well-known domestic special steel companies, focusing on "Key technologies for manufacturing advanced gear materials for high-temperature carburizing and industrial applications". The award was jointly established by the China Iron and Steel Association and the China Metallurgical Society to promote scientific and technological progress and innovation in the metallurgical industry. In response to the national "dual carbon" strategy, the SAIC Transmission project team has successfully solved the problem of grain size stability during high-temperature carburizing of gear steel after 5 years of hard work since 2018, meeting the automotive industry's demand for high-stability gear steel.
